Description: How many times were you asked to
draw a family tree as a child? What about a timeline of major life events or
a report about your culture or heritage? Learn how these common assignments
can be challenging for adopted children and families who have chosen assisted
reproduction. We will discuss various
solutions to these challenges.
Instructor Bio: Stephanie Weiner is a Jewish
adoptee who has been engaged in adoption issues for 22 years.

Description: This class will explore the
history of anti-Semitism. Using a dramatic PowerPoint format, Herschkowitz, a
child survivor, walks students through anti-Semitism both visually and
through moving stories.
Instructor Bio: Bob Herschkowitz has a MS in Mechanical Engineering, a MA in
Naval History and International Relations and is a retired Boeing aerospace
engineer as well as a retired Commander from the US Naval Reserves.

Kaye/Kantrowitz’s book, The Colors of Jews (IU Press) and examines the
historical and contemporary views on Jews and whiteness. Kaye/Kantrowitz
argues that Jews are an increasingly multiracial people; a fact that, if
embraced, could help combat racism.
Instructor Bio: Kaye/Kantrowitz is a feminist
scholar and poet. She is currently Adjunct Professor in Comparative
Literature at Queens College/CUNY.
