Cardozo Society

The Cardozo Society of Washington State is the official Washington State Bar Association minority bar for Jewish lawyers in Washington. Run by the Jewish Federation, the Cardozo Society programming integrates legal and Jewish concerns to demonstrate the unique contributions the legal profession can make to improve the Jewish community at large.

In an effort to strengthen relationships among Jewish attorneys and between Jewish attorneys and Jewish law students in Washington State, the Cardozo Society of Washington State, in conjunction with J-Pro, has offers an annual mentor-mentee program.

Check out our Cardozo Society Pro Bono Program. Get involved in pro bono work with a wide variety of legal service providers and in many different practice areas throughout Washington.

Cardozo Society Offers Dynamic CLE

On December 12 at 12:00-1:30pm, the Cardozo Society of Washington State will be presenting a 1.5 credit CLE by Professor Geoffrey S. Corn on the topic of Understanding the Legal Foundation for the US & Israeli Counter-Terrorism Efforts. The CLE will be located at Riddell Williams in Downtown Seattle.

Elena Kagan Becomes 4th Female Justice, 8th Jewish Justice

The Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle would like to congratulate Solicitor General Elena Kagan on her Senate confirmation to the United States Supreme Court. She brings with her unique personal and professional qualifications as a consensus builder and a deep commitment to upholding our constitutional values. We are particularly proud to see a member of our Jewish community rise to such an important position, being just the fourth female justice and eighth Jewish justice in Supreme Court history.

Cardozo Event Inspires and Informs Jewish Attorneys

December 12 saw nearly 60 local Jewish attorneys attend the largest Cardozo Society CLE program in recent years. The topic, Understanding the Legal Foundation for US & Israeli Counter-Terrorism Efforts, was presented by Professor Geoffrey S. Corn, a Professor of Law at South Texas College in Houston, Texas, a retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel, and formerly the special Assistant to the US Army Judge Advocate General for Law of War Matters.

Giving

Membership to the Cardozo Society is now free to all attorneys in Washington State.

Those who make annual Community Campaign gifts of $180 will be recognized as Cardozo Society members in publications and listings.

Members who give a household gift of $1,800 will become Cardozo Honor Society members.
