Community Campaign

Our annual Community Campaign is a key component of the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle’s fundraising efforts. Every year, we raise millions of dollars from thousands of individuals, families and businesses in the greater Seattle area for the programs and services our network of agencies provides locally, in Israel and around the world.

65 percent of the raised funds are allocated through a transparent allocation process to local partner agencies and organizations. The balance is given to national and overseas programs aiding our extended Jewish family. These funds feed the hungry, care for the sick and aged, build Jewish identity, promote arts and culture, educate and advocate—all to ensure a vibrant, connected Jewish community locally, in Israel and worldwide.

There are four key issue areas that the Jewish Federation supports:

  • Building a Jewish Future—Ensuring effective formal and informal educational opportunities for the greater Seattle Jewish community including day schools, supplementary education, Jewish experiential programs such as camps and Missions, fashioning entry points and engaging different segments of the community.
  • Strengthening Global Jewish Peoplehood—Ensuring human rights, building Jewish identity, helping overseas communities in need and fostering enhanced ties between Jews in Washington State and Jewish communities around the world and in Israel.
  • Caring for Those in Need—Supporting needed social services and resources to elderly, families and other needy Jews who need food, home care, medical, economic and emotional support.
  • Encouraging a Secure, Democratic Israel—Providing support for Israel education and advocacy initiatives in Washington State, as well as enabling programs in Israel that integrate new immigrants and bridge social and educational gaps to shape a better Israeli society.
