A Week of Action, October 10-19

The Jewish Federation and 20 local synagogues and organizations are seeking to raise awareness and offer ways to get involved—from a food drive and sort at Jewish Family Service to the Temple Beth Am “Homeless to Renter” fundraiser to collecting signatures urging elected officials to act against poverty.

Sign the online petition to bring attention to the needs of Washington’s poor by urging political candidates to develop comprehensive plans for reducing poverty and creating economic opportunity in our state.

Call for Applications - Springboard Leadership Seminar Series

The Young Leadership Division’s fourth annual SpringBoard Leadership Series engages and trains young adults for volunteerism and leadership in the Jewish community. Participants learn about political advocacy and activism, Jewish communal fundraising, serving on a board, combating anti-Semitism and more. This leadership series consists of eight seminars led by local and national leaders.

When Rights Collide: How to Find the Balance

This session will examine how to proceed in cases where the rights of individuals are in conflict such as the rights of religious accommodation of county clerks and the rights of same sex couples to marry or the rights of pharmacists and the rights of a woman to health care. Lunch will be provided.
