Hadassah Breast Cancer Panel Discussion with Dr. Einat Carmon
Dr. Einat Carmon, a Surgeon in the Department of Surgery at the Hadassah University Medical Center in Jerusalem, specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of breast diseases, specifically breast cancer.
Her research focuses on evaluating the role of MRI in the preoperative assessment of women with a newly diagnosed breast cancer; optimal methods to reduce re-lumpectomy rate; investigating common regulatory pathways of estrogen and thyroid receptors; and the effect of thyroid hormone on breast cancer. Some of her findings have been published in prestigious medical journals and presented at scientific meetings.
Dr. Carmon is intimately involved with her patients, especially counseling women who carry the BRCA gene, placing them at high risk of developing breast and ovarian cancer.
"As breast cancer treatment has become less focused on radical surgery and more focused on multimodality approach," she says. "I believe coordinated care at a dedicated center is essential. Working as a part of the Hadassah team allows me to provide my patients with the best coordinated care and ensure the best possible outcome."
