21st Century Teaching Skills Conference for Day Schools Advances Jewish Education
This spring, over 45 educators from the Jewish day schools came together for a "21st Century Teaching Skills" conference organized by Jewish Federation's Education Services. Participants had the opportunity to learn about some new emerging technologies for the classroom, and the value of collaboration, innovation, self-direction, and thoughtful technology integration. Matt Huston from the education services company, Peer-Ed, gave an interactive presentation on the conference's theme and Rivy Poupko Kletenik, Head of School for Seattle Hebrew Academy, presented a meaningful D'var Torah.
It was a great opportunity to bring teachers together from different schools to share ideas. One educator said these conferences help enhance the notion that all the educators share the same goals of helping their students learn to the best of their abilities. Many of the participants have asked for similar conferences like this one in order to continue the conversations that this engaging event started. 21st Century Skills is fast becoming a very important element in today's education world, and the JEC is very happy to be able to facilitate these events which provide our teachers with the necessary tools and information.
