Cardozo Society Takes in the View at L'Dor V'Dor 2010
On June 15, 1914, the Smith Tower was a less than a month away from opening as the world's fourth tallest building. Ninety-six years later this historic building is far from being the tallest, but on June 15, 2010 it was likely the only skyscraper in the world playing host to a group of over 70 Jewish legal professionals celebrating a year of philanthropy and service to the community. At the second annual Cardozo Society L'Dor V'Dor End of Year Reception, attorneys, judges, law students and recent law graduates came together in recognition of their collective accomplishments over the year and to recognize an outstanding member of the Jewish legal community. The 2010 L'Dor V'Dor Award was presented to Robert Sulkin, a dedicated lawyer, volunteer leader and philanthropist in the local and international Jewish communities. In presenting the award, Murray Guterson, who received the award in 2009 and has known Mr. Sulkin throughout his career, spoke of Mr. Sulkin's many legal achievements and his commitment to the Jewish community. The spectacular view from the top of the Smith Tower was a perfect fit for the evening; as Cardozo Society members looked back on a successful year, Cardozo Co-chairs Aaron Kiviat and Aric Bomsztyk shared their excitement for the continued growth of the Cardozo Society well into the future.
The Jewish Federation's Cardozo Society of Washington State strengthens relationships among Jewish legal professionals and law students in Washington through education, leadership, philanthropy and working together to enhance the quality of Jewish life in Washington, Israel and throughout the world.
