We at the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle are deeply sorrowed by the deaths, injuries and destruction caused by the immense tornado that struck Oklahoma on Monday afternoon. We are heartbroken to hear that children lost their lives taking shelter in schools that moments before the storm were places of learning and play.

» Read MoreThe Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle is pleased to announce that we soared past our $100,000 goal for J-Give, the fund-raising campaign we held May 5-12.
Thanks to the support of 205 J-Give donors, we raised $142,820, including the stretch pool of challenge grant funding. Thanks to all of the Jewish Federation's generous donors, we now have more resources to feed hungry families, enable more children to attend Jewish schools and experience Jewish camping, support more holiday celebrations and cultural events, and assist more impoverished Jews in Israel and overseas.

But today, the Jewish Federation asks you to not take action with words, but to take action with dollars, by making a donation during our J-Give campaign.

The Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) is a federal program that provides small grants to at-risk nonprofits for acquiring and installing physical security enhancements. Equipment such as fencing, surveillance cameras, metal detection equipment, blast-proof doors and more are funded under this grant program. The Jewish community benefits immensely from this program, as it is unfortunately susceptible to attacks and receives threats on a regular basis.
Kline Galland is pleased to announce the opening of its new Home Health Care Agency, which will expand the range of services available to older adults in the greater Seattle community.
