Laugh Your Way to Giving

Join us for an evening of uproarious laughter, delectable desserts and community fun for our annual community celebration and campaign kickoff! On September 16, we will launch the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle’s 2010 Community Campaign at “Laugh Your Way to Giving,” featuring the hilarious comedy act Jewtopia and a dessert reception.

Bryan and Sam will show us around the familiar World of Jewtopia, highlighting and parodying everyday happenings in Jewish life. Whether it’s your Jewish grandmother who sends her food back in a restaurant or your aunt who asks, “You’re wearing that?” before you leave the house, we’ll all recognize ourselves-and our upbringings-in Bryan and Sam’s Jewtopia. The two have combined scenes from their hit off-Broadway show Jewtopia with their bestselling book “Jewtopia: the Chosen Book for the Chosen People” to create a hit, one-of-a-kind multimedia event.

This event celebrates the vital work of the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle and gives us all a chance to relax and laugh together. Bring spouses, friends, siblings, dates: anyone excited about Judaism in Seattle. No minimum gift is required, but everyone will have a chance to contribute to the Jewish Federation’s 2010 Community Campaign.

The event will take place on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at Benaroya Hall in downtown Seattle.

Join us at 6 pm for an optional taste of Israel pre-reception with kosher Israeli food and drinks, or come when doors open at 7 to catch the program and show at 7:30, with complimentary dessert to follow. The event is chaired by the Sulman family: Barbara, Stuart, and Scott Sulman & Carin and Scott Jacobson.
