U.S. District Court Rules in Favor of King County on Anti-Israel Bus Ads

The Jewish Federation is gratified by the ruling of the court to deny a preliminary injunction sought by the Seattle Mideast Awareness Campaign that would have ordered the county to display the proposed anti-Israel bus ads.

We continue to believe the ads would have caused disruption to Metro Transit service and that they would have had the potential to incite possible violence and vandalism. This ruling will allow Metro to implement thoughtful advertising policies that will continue to protect all segments of our community as well as serve the county's financial needs.

We encourage the public to become educated on all aspects of the Middle East conflict, and to work for a peaceful resolution through which the parties can find a way to live and work together with respect and dignity.
