The JTNews is a Seattle-based, award-winning newspaper, providing local, national and international news of Jewish interest to a readership of 16,000. The JTNews is owned by the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle.
The Jewish Transcript of the Pacific Northwest made its first appearance on March 6, 1924. Founder Herman Horowitz said he felt it was his duty to his Jewish brethren to provide "the vehicle to represent their ideas, aspirations and principles."
Those words remain true today. Though the Jewish Transcript now has a new name, the JTNews remains first and foremost a community newspaper. It serves as the primary source of news coverage for Washington state's estimated 35-40,000 Jews.
Special Issues
The JTNews also publishes jew-ish.com, an online community resource for local Jews in their 20s and 30s, The Calendar to Jewish Washington, the Seattle Jewish community calendar, The Guide to Jewish Washington and the Northwest Jewish Family Magazine.
The Professional Directory to Jewish Washington is an annual print publication as well as an online publication.
