Go to any Jewish gathering and chances are high that food will be a leading topic of conversation. Food is a great connective element for our community. Food is central to Jewish traditions and celebrations. Food—making it, enjoying it, sharing ideas about it—adds spice to Jewish life in so many ways!
Food will be one of the themes of Connections 2022, alongside entrepreneurship and resilience. I hope you’ll join us virtually on Sunday, February 6, for an engaging, interactive experience with Jamie Geller—Israeli-American food writer, celebrity chef, television producer, and entrepreneur. Jamie’s flair for kosher cooking and zesty holiday meal ideas have brought joy and wonderful aromas to many kitchens. I want to thank our Connections Co-Chairs, Katherine Zinger and Ronit Droker, for coming up with the recipe for what promises to be a fun event for all.
Connections is the largest philanthropic gathering of Jewish women in the Pacific Northwest, and anyone is welcome! It’s a signature event that community members look forward to every year—an opportunity for hundreds to network, learn, and make an impact. One more thing to note: to make Connections even more inclusive and welcoming, we will provide closed-captioning service.
Connections is all about making connections with one another and is a showcase for how your generous support of the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle makes a powerful impact—opening doors for people of all ages to experience the beauty of Jewish life, nurturing our connections to Israel and global Jewry, serving as a voice for Jewish Puget Sound, and so much more.
This year, like last year’s virtual gathering, admission to Connections will be free of charge, making its program accessible to all. Our hope is that you’ll be inspired by the experience to support your Federation’s work through a meaningful gift.
Connections is just over a month away, but don’t delay registering! If you RSVP by January 7, we’ll enter you into a raffle for a wonderful prize! Please consider signing up to be a Connections Captain and inviting 10 people from your network to join us in making greater connections in the community. To learn more, you may contact my colleague Tori Schwartz.
Please join us! Connections 2022 will be a lively and memorable experience that will give you plenty to chew on! We hope to see you on February 6.
