DESCRIPTION:It is a critical time for the American Jewish community. We are wrestling with ongoing security concerns\, a rise in antisemitism\, and concerns about civil rights. May is Jewish American Heritage Month\, making it a particularly meaningful opportunity to educate our elected officials about our Jewish community and talk about the issues that matter to us. The Federation’s Jewish Community Relations Council will be doing an advocacy fly-in to Washington\, D.C.\, in May\, and we hope you can join us! \n\n\n\nWhether you have experience with federal advocacy or are brand new to it\, this memorable trip will help you develop the skills to advocate on the national level and make a meaningful impact. Join us for this flagship advocacy experience and help bring Jewish voices to Capitol Hill!

SUMMARY:Women's Philanthropy Spring Service Project
DESCRIPTION:Join Women’s Philanthropy for a deep dive into one of our community partners\, Jewish Family Service (JFS)\, and learn more about how we support their work. The Polack Food Bank serves more than 2\,700 households each year. We will take a peek behind the scenes to learn how JFS supports food access in our community\, and lend some hands-on support to their work. Together\, we will reflect on the Jewish values that guide our work\, tour the Polack Food Bank\, and bag hundreds of pounds of dry food for distribution to our neighbors. \n\n\n\nThis event is free to attend\, and kosher appetizers and drinks are provided. \n\n\n\nSchedule \n\n\n\n6:00 – 6:15 pm: Arrival\, appetizers\, and introductions \n\n\n\n6:15 – 6:45 pm: Learning with a JFS educator \n\n\n\n6:45 – 7:45 pm: Bagging food items and Polack Food Bank tour \n\n\n\n7:45 – 8:00 pm: Event wrap-up and departure
