The Federation strengthens ties between Jewish Puget Sound and Israel and overseas Jewish communities in many ways, all made possible by your generous support.

Since our founding in 1928, the Federation has made significant investments in global Jewry. We mobilized the community to rescue and resettle Holocaust survivors in the 1940s and to help Ethiopian and Russian immigrants in the 1980s and 1990s.

Today, we advocate for Israel, invest in services for Jews in need overseas, and foster people-to-people connections. Thanks to YOU, we are making an impact strengthening the bonds of friendship among Jews here at home, in Israel, and around the world. Our current programs include:

Israeli Emissaries: We sponsor extended visits by Shinshinim and Summer Shlichim, young Israeli emissaries who bring Israeli life and culture alive for Jewish Puget Sound.

Helping Jews in Need Overseas: Through our longstanding partnership with the Jewish Agency for Israel and the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, and with direct funding, the Federation supports programs helping Jewish families in Israel and Jewish communities around the world obtain food, healthcare, education, and more.

Israel Advocacy: Federation’s Jewish Community Relations Council supports a peaceful, secure, Jewish, and democratic state of Israel.

Israel Opportunities for Young Adults: We support life-changing, immersive Israel experiences for young adults. Honeymoon Israel provides immersive trips to Israel for locally-based cohorts of 20 committed young couples with at least one Jewish partner, creating communities of couples building families with deep connections to Jewish life.

Israel Opportunities for Teens: Federation helps teens deepen their knowledge about and connection with Israel, through Israel Experience scholarships.

Israel-Focused Opportunities: The Federation organizes community events that foster strong connections with Israel through educational opportunities, cultural offerings, and people-to-people gatherings.
