Every year at this time, you can sense the anticipation building about Connections, the annual gathering that brings together hundreds of Jewish women from all over our region to greet old friends, make new friends, support Jewish life, and engage in an empowering Jewish experience.
Connections 2021 is just a few weeks away—Sunday, January 31. It will be a Connections like no other—all virtual! This year’s gathering will be a bit shorter and we’ll be greeting each other in Zoom rectangles instead of a hotel ballroom, dressed in comfortable but camera-ready lounge wear, and I can promise you that in all other ways it will be a fun and uplifting event.
Our featured speaker this year will be Lacey Schwartz Delgado, a Multi-Media Producer and Advocate for Social Change who is best known for writing, directing, and producing her acclaimed personal documentary, Little White Lie, where she explored her shifting racial identity and what it means to be black—and Jewish—in America. She will have a poignant and powerful message at this time of renewed focus on racial justice in our country and our community’s challenging but necessary conversations about inclusion and identity.
Connections, too, will showcase for you how your support for the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle does so much good: advocating for Jewish Puget Sound through the lens of our shared values, creating community through immersive Jewish experiences, strengthening our ties with Israel and helping Jews in need around the world, and so much more. This year, there will be no admission charge to attend Connections, and we hope the experience will inspire you to make a gift to support this important work in the year ahead.
I want to thank our Connections Co-Chairs, sisters-in-law Marisa Stratiner and Maya Stratiner for putting together a wonderful program under challenging circumstances. They’ve brought a creative energy to the planning that is sure to shine.
Don’t wait too long to register! If you are signed up by January 18, you’ll receive a special gift, sent directly to you! And if you are among the first 100 registrants who attend Connections, you will be entered into a raffle for a private virtual baking class with Robin of Hello Robin!
Please join us at Connections for an exciting and impactful experience. And yes, gentlemen, you’re welcome to join us too!
I’m looking forward to seeing you on January 31!
