We live in a generous society. The facts are undeniable. Every year, charitable giving increases—even in 2020, a year of upheaval unlike any in recent memory, giving in America was up by over 5 percent from the previous year.
The numbers are impressive, but the core of the giving story is that people support causes that call to their hearts, in the broader society and here in our Jewish community. In turn, those charitable impulses create a sense of connection with purpose-driven companies that support those causes too. Tzedakah is a Hebrew word we often use as an analogue for philanthropy, but a deeper meaning embedded in the word tzedakah is the building of relationships, the cornerstone of a strong community.
The Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle’s sponsorship program is an opportunity for companies and organizations to strengthen relationships with Jewish Puget Sound and to gain the tangible benefit of higher visibility for your brand/organization in a highly educated, engaged community.
The visibility that Federation gives to sponsors includes logos in our weekly community events e-newsletter, on our website, in our annual report, in community event slide shows, and social media.
For sponsors, that means thousands of community members will see your logo every day and associate it with the work made possible by Federation’s generous supporters: the amazing PJ Library® for families with young children, scholarships for kids to go to Jewish overnight camp, programs developing the next generation of community leaders, opportunities for compelling Jewish learning and cultural experiences, and a great deal more.
For companies and organizations, sponsoring Federation is a way to show the people they serve and anyone with whom they come in contact that Jewish life matters and that ensuring a bright future for the Puget Sound Jewish community is in their DNA.
I invite you to learn more about our sponsorship opportunities by contacting my colleague Lynn Feldhammer, at lynnf@jewishinseattle.org. Let’s work together for the community that we love!
