We will be meeting with dozens of elected leaders to share the need to ensure Jewish communal safety through a range of legislative priorities.

Over the weekend, many of us woke up to the news of yet another antisemitic attack – this time in Jackson, Mississippi.

The specific legislative priorities were developed based on input from the JCRC Public Advocacy Committee, our lobbyist, legislators, coalition partners within and beyond the Jewish community, and form the basis of our advocacy in this legislative session.

On Wednesday, hundreds joined our Community Candlelighting and Vigil for the victims of the tragic Bondi Beach attack.

Read opening remarks from Solly Kane, President & CEO of the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle, delivered at our community’s Bondi Beach Vigil and Candlelighting on December 17.

With open enrollment underway for the 2026–2027 school year and application deadlines for many schools falling in mid-January, now is a great time for families to explore whether a Jewish day school might be the right fit for their child.

As I woke up this morning preparing for the start of Chanukah, I was instead greeted with headlines of a mass shooting at a Chanukah celebration on Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia. The Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle, and Jewish Federations across the country, are horrified by this antisemitic terrorist attack.

I wish you a bright and joyful Chanukah – may this season be a time of a little more light in our world.

Read how the Jewish Federations of North America and JAFI are responding to communities affected by the October 7 attacks, in reflections from Stephanie Shujman, Federation Board Member and Campaign Chair.

Over 800 community members gathered last week to hear from Rachel and Jon as they shared the story of their son, Hersh, and how living a life with purpose helps them carry on his legacy.

Last night, I was honored to see so many of you join us for the 2025 Federation Fall Fundraiser: Together in Hope.
