A highlight of the 2018 Federation Community Trip to Israel was a visit to the legendary Maskit Fashion House in Jaffa. It was an exciting opportunity to see and try on the evocative and breathtaking styles that Maskit’s visionary designer Sharon Tal has brought to the world.
On January 27, Maskit is coming to Seattle! You can see and hear from Sharon herself—and even try on a selection of her eye-catching creations at a Trunk Show—by joining us at Connections, the largest philanthropic gathering of Jewish women in the Pacific Northwest. Adina Almo and Lea Lipman, our event co-chairs, have developed an exciting program for this year’s Connections. The event will celebrate the power of Jewish women and shine the spotlight on an amazing Israeli woman who is an accomplished symbol of Startup Nation’s creativity and entrepreneurial energy.
Connections is a signature fundraising event that hundreds of women in our community look forward to every year. For Puget Sound newcomers who have not attended Connections before, the annual brunch is an outstanding opportunity to meet friends, hear the stories of high-profile women who are changing the world, and make an impact by supporting the Federation’s work for a vibrant, thriving Jewish community.
Adina tells us, “It is empowering to share this space with such accomplished, prominent, successful, and talented women. Connections will bring together women with a passion for the Federation, a passion for Israel, and a passion for the Jewish people.”
Sharon’s story is sure to inspire. She re-imagined and re-launched the legendary Maskit Fashion House, founded 65 years ago by Ruth Dayan. Sharon brought to the ambitious endeavor her impressive background in fashion design, including work at Lanvin in Paris and as head of embroidery at Alexander McQueen in London. As you’ll hear from Sharon and see in the Trunk Show, her creations are works of art that elegantly express Israel’s rich history, diverse cultures, and outstanding natural beauty.
Connections this year will be fun, inspiring, engaging, and empowering. And, putting Israel’s creativity in the spotlight at this year’s Connections complements Federation’s renewed focus on deepening connections and engagement with Israel – just one of the many ways that you make an impact through Federation. As Lea tells us, “Connections will have great energy for a great cause.”
Please join us at Connections. It’s the place to be for Jewish women to make an impact and make connections – with each other, Jewish Puget Sound, and Israel and Jewish communities everywhere.
