Giving year-round support for survivors of gender-based violence.
Shining a light on the many important ways that women made their mark on Washington’s Jewish community.
Providing a safe and welcoming space for women college students to connect with Jewish life.
Those are a few of the programs empowering and improving the lives of Jewish women and girls in which your Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle has invested through Women’s Endowment Fund (WEF) grants.
We’re thankful for our generous donors who provide us with the resources to do the work of making these important grants that strengthen Jewish Puget Sound. And now you can help get the word out.
Applications for our biennial WEF grants are now open! We invite applications from Jewish organizations serving Western Washington with programs that make a difference for women and girls. You can find out more about WEF grant guidelines, eligibility, and other details here.
Every other year, the Federation awards WEF grants of up to $10,000 to programs that prepare women and girls to be leaders in our community, create strong mentorship bonds between generations, and support social service and educational programs tailored for women and girls.
A few examples of what WEF grants do for Jewish life: WEF grants have been an important source of support in the development and success of Project DVORA, through which Jewish Family Service provides counseling, legal support, and other services to help survivors of domestic violence. WEF grants have supported the Washington State Jewish Historical Society in educating our community about women who have played crucial roles in the life of Jewish Puget Sound.
As our community looks ahead to a future of both challenge and promise, WEF grants are one more tool in our toolbox for fostering the connections that are the foundation of a strong Jewish Puget Sound. They are one more way that we put our Federation values of Collaboration, Integrity, Respect, Innovation, and Community to work in building a brighter future for Jewish life.
Please help spread the word that applications for Women’s Endowment Fund grants are open. We are eagerly looking forward to seeing the wonderful program ideas that come forward.
