Jewish Education Services

The Education Services takes a holistic view of the educational needs of our local Jewish community and trains teachers and educators who work for Jewish congregational supplementary schools, early childhood centers and day schools.

Hebrew High

Yes...it is true! You can go to Hebrew High AND get high school credit...

Hebrew High is a dynamic, accredited, elective-based program for Jewish students in the 9th-12th grade. Students attended Hebrew High on Wednesday night from 7:00-9:15pm during the academic year.

Livingroom Learning with Women's Philanthropy

October 19, 2010 7:15 PM - 9:15 PM

This interactive session for Seattle's Jewish women is a wonderful opportunity to connect through learning, dessert and schmoozing. We hope you will join us! The topic and speaker will be announced closer to the date. Past speakers have included Rivy Kletenik, Rabbi Allison Flash and Ruz Gulko. Future sessions will be held on December 14, March 2 and April 11.

Lecture Series Part of Congregation Ezra Bessaroth's 100th Anniversary

21st Century Teaching Skills Conference for Day Schools Advances Jewish Education

This spring, over 45 educators from the Jewish day schools came together for a "21st Century Teaching Skills" conference organized by Jewish Federation's Education Services. Participants had the opportunity to learn about some new emerging technologies for the classroom, and the value of collaboration, innovation, self-direction, and thoughtful technology integration.

Professional Growth Scholarship Application

Scholarships are available, on a matching grant basis, for teachers who want to continue their professional growth. Print a copy of the Professional Growth Scholarship Application, fill it out completely, have the recommendation completed, and send both to Jewish Education Center, 2031 Third Ave., Seattle, WA 98121 or fax it to 206 443-0303.

Sonya Basseri Chosen as Local Grinspoon-Steinhardt Awardee

We would like to congratulate Sonya Basseri for being chosen as the winner of the 2010 Grinspoon-Steinhardt Award for Excellence in Jewish Education. This award is given out locally across the country to educators who have made a commitment to the field of Jewish education.
