Daring to Dream: Connections 2010

“I’m looking at the big picture of this event, at the community building aspects,” explains Lois Fuhr when asked about cochairing the 2010 Connections brunch for women.

Lisa Katsman, her co-chair, sees it differently. “I am driven by the end results–the fundraising–and therefore the good work we can do,” explains Lisa. They are a perfect match to head up Connections, the largest annual women’s outreach and fundraising event in the greater Seattle area.

Special Screening of "Oy Vey! My Son is Gay" to benefit Approve Referendum 71

Lainie Kazan, Carmen Electra and Saul Rubinek star in a heartwarming comedy about two Jewish parents coming to understand their gay son. Much of the film was shot Washington with some scenes taking place in front of Temple De Hirsch Sinai. Proceeds from this special screening will support the Approve Referendum 71 campaign.

Approve Referedum 71 This Fall

On this fall’s election ballot is an important referendum you should know about – Referendum 71. Referendum 71 asks voters to “approve” or “reject” Washington’s domestic partnership statute. The statute gives rights and responsibilities to unmarried same-sex and opposite-sex couples. A significant number of Jewish community organizations, synagogues and leaders are supporting an approve vote including the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle, Jewish Family Service, Anti-Defamation League and the American Jewish Committee.
