In 2025, Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) conducted a comprehensive study of 14 U.S. Jewish communities, including Seattle. This research helps us see where we have things in common, where we differ, and what we can do to improve our community’s well-being and engagement. I am excited today to share the results of this survey with our community for the first time.
If you love looking at the data from every aspect, enjoy this online dataset. Break down the data by age, gender, and other demographics to dig deeper on your own!
The last time we had a comprehensive study of Jewish Seattle was in 2014. Much has changed since then, in our city and globally. My hope is that this new research will help us learn about each other and find opportunities to bring our community together to connect, engage, and build a strong future.
I look forward to discussing these findings with community members and leadership in the coming months. In the meantime, reach out and let us know what you think at communityresearch@jewishinseattle.org.
And speaking of community, I hope you’ll join me at Limmud Seattle this Sunday, April 26. Limmud is a wonderful opportunity to come together and learn from each other about a variety of topics and issues in Jewish life. I’ll be speaking on April 26 about “Reclaiming Jewish Joy,” and we have several other Federation staff members presenting as well. You can learn more about Limmud and register here!
