Commemorative Friday Night Service

July 17 @ 6:00 pm 8:00 pm

Please join us for a special Friday night service marking the 20th anniversary of the tragic shooting at the offices of the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle. This Shabbat service will honor the memory of Pamela Waechter z”l, who was killed during the attack.

Pamela was an active and caring member of the Jewish community. She served as President of Temple B’nai Torah and as a regional officer of the Reform Movement. She also volunteered as an organizer at the Jewish Family Services Food Bank and as a cook for a local women’s shelter. Pamela worked at the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle in multiple roles over the years, including Director of Outreach and Director of Annual Giving.

On July 28, 2006, Pamela was killed by an antisemitic extremist during a shooting attack at the Federation’s office. She left behind two beloved children, a devoted group of loving friends, and a heartbroken community.

In 2007, the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle established the Pamela Waechter z”l Jewish Communal Professional Award to recognize and honor a Jewish communal professional who embodies the leadership, dedication, and spirit of service that Pamela brought to our community.

As we mark 20 years since this tragic attack, we invite the community to come together in remembrance. May Pamela’s memory be a blessing.

No RSVP required.
