Am Yisrael

Connecting Seattle to Jews Around the World

The Federation supports Jews globally, especially in times of crisis. By providing aid, strengthening ties with Israel, and cultivating unity among Jews worldwide, we make sure no one stands alone, reinforcing the resilience of the Jewish people.

Our Impact

The Federation provides meaningful financial support annually to the Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI) and the Joint Distribution Committee (JDC), our core partners overseas. As a Jewish community, we are supporting those in need around the world, from new immigrants in Israel, to those living through war in Ukraine, to those displaced after October 7. As the Talmud teaches: Kol Yisrael Arevim Zeh Bazeh, all of Israel are responsible for one another, and through the Federation’s work, we embody that teaching every day.

Israel & Overseas Allocations

Since our founding in 1928, we’ve made significant investments overseas through our longstanding partnerships with The Jewish Agency for Israel and the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, in addition to direct funding. We support humanitarian assistance, immigrant aid, education, and Jewish identity programs—locally, in Israel, and overseas.

Supporting Israel in Unprecedented Times

As a member of the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA), the Federation of Greater Seattle played an important role in raising over $855M* to support Israel after the tragic events of October 7. Our collaboration with JFNA ensures swift and effective aid delivery, providing resources for victims of terror, mental health support, and community rebuilding. Together, we amplify our impact, standing united in solidarity with Israelis during this critical time.

 *As of 11/5/24.
