Join your Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle in encouraging young adults with energy and passion for Jewish life to be a part of this exciting, new-to-Seattle affinity group. The Ben-Gurion Society is for emerging leaders who are ready to step it up, connect with peers, put their commitment into action, and amplify their impact.

As inaugural Ben-Gurion Society Advisory Committee Chair Stephanie Shujman says, it’s an opportunity for “bold leadership, inspired giving, and diverse experiences to build and sustain a vibrant Jewish community in Seattle and around the world.”

The Ben-Gurion Society is open to individuals ages 21 to 45 who contribute $1,000 or more to Federation for supporting the many programs that enrich and strengthen Jewish Puget Sound. Ben-Gurion Society members learning and working together will create powerful ripple effects on participants and on our entire community. Members will build local and national relationships with like-minded individuals sharing a passion for philanthropy. By forming and enhancing these networks, the members will create a powerful force capable of making a big difference—here and across the Jewish world.

There will be many opportunities for society members, including special invitations to hear from distinguished speakers and to engage in business, social, networking, and volunteering events and experiences.

A pillar of Federation’s work is ensuring Jewish continuity by helping emerging leaders prepare for and assume key responsibilities. The Ben-Gurion Society is our newest program for giving talented, motivated young adults the tools and connections that are so important for exerting impactful leadership.

In bringing the Ben-Gurion Society to Seattle, your Federation is following the inspiring example of David Ben-Gurion, Israel’s visionary first prime minister, who had faith in the leadership potential of young adults and encouraged them to put their passion to work building strong Jewish communities.

If you are a young adult who is dedicated to strengthening Jewish life and taking your philanthropic leadership to a higher level, find out more about the Ben-Gurion Society by contacting my colleague Tori Schwartz. By getting involved in the Ben-Gurion Society, you can join with peers to ignite the spirit of giving, make connections, and deepen your impact.

And if you know of young adults in your family or social circles who share that passion, please pass the word!

It’s your opportunity to create a brighter future for the community we love.
